NBA Lockout – Better Or Worse?
Nba lockout has getting worse since August when both sides haven’t managed to come up with deal to settle. Derek Fisher and the player union still didn’t agree to the 50-50 split with the NBA commissioner David Stern. In Sam Amick piece, David Stern has promised a 82-games season to both ESPN and TNT, while on SportsCenter, Stern admits that there will not be a full NBA season under any circumstances.
As we all know, we won’t have any NBA games for 1 month and won’t know if there will be any changes. During the NBA lockouts, the players are not allow to play or engage in any activities NBA related. They will not be paid as well. The NBA is reported to lose over 300 million dollars last year and many teams are on the verse of bankruptcy.
Derek Fisher, the president of all NBA players, stated that he won’t easily give in to the 50-50 deals David Stern made because it is their job to play basketball not to worry about business. Should it be the players job to worry about this matter or is it the CEO job to make sure their teams are in good standing condition?
Kobe Bryant, has also stated his intention to go play in Italy where he grew up and learn how to play basketball. Will the NBA Lockout do more good than harm? We don’t know, but we all hope that the NBA and basketball will come back soon for the fans to enjoy. In the mean time, we can watch football instead.
Talking about the NBA Lockout will critically effects restaurants and sporting business, many restaurant owners said it won’t be affecting much because there is football and other stuff that people can watch. Familes can go and watch family shows and not just have to be basketball.
We don’t really know how the future might turns out, but one thing we all know for sure is that the NBA Lockout will not end anytime soon.
